My first contact with the music of Dorothy Collins was 1955 when our family purchased the first television set in our neighborhood.  Since we didn’t have a local station in our city, we relied upon an antenna to receive programs from other cities.  Saturday night we watched The Show of Shows and Your Hit Parade.  After watching several shows, I was hooked on Dorothy Collins and she became one of my favorite female singers of the 50’s.

Over the years as I followed the career of Dorothy Collins,  I  faithfully collected her records, fan magazine articles and audio and video tapes of her performances on radio and television.

With the advent of the Internet, contact with other Dorothy Collins fans became available and the benefits of networking enabled fans to share stories and media they treasured.  About a year ago, I met another Dorothy Collins fan through You Tube named Matthew who shared my passion of Dorothy’s talent.  Even though he was in his mid 20’s, he had an interest in the singers of the 50’s including Dorothy Collins.  In fact his grandmother was a dancer on Your Hit Parade and knew her personally.  He had the great honor of meeting Dorothy in 1991 when he was only 5 years old.  He remembers being completely enamored with her charm. 

Matthew  also shared the dream of creating a website of tribute  to Dorothy.  This website is the result of that dream.
